Did you know it is physically and humanly impossible to multitask?
We may think we are battling many things at once, but the truth is we are only ever really doing one task at a time but jumping between tasks while doing it and calling it multitasking.
I find myself straying to this chaotic structure when I don't structure and plan out my days. It's so easy to keep an email tab open and read every email that pops on through while working on a simple design for a social post.
But when I break that down, a social post would take me about 30 minutes to an hour to complete. By the time I read 3-5 emails, I've spent an extra 10-15 minutes unengaged from the task I was working on to start, I've spend too much time on the "one task" I perceived I was doing and I've fallen behind on all of my other tasks!
SO! How can we help negate this issue?
Plan your tasks in sections!
🌙 Figure out how long you have to complete said task.
🌙 Decide how much time per day you need to dedicate to the task to complete it by the deadline.
🌙 Break the project up into smaller tasks to complete each day.
🌙 Most importantly, work on these tasks WITHOUT distractions! Check your email in between tasks! Turn your phone on Do Not Disturb mode for an hour. You'll surprise yourself how much you get done.
